Hebron Seed Faith Project

Preaching on November 11, 2007 by Pastor Francis G. Alvarado

Two (2) years ago, while we were holding the annual praise prayer celebration, God spoke to me in a vision. The vision speaks of JCSGO-Caloocan holding its celebrations and other activities in its very own worship center, which will be the biggest in Caloocan City. IF it’s going to be the biggest in Caloocan, then it would cost millions, I thought, so I ignored the vision.

But last Sunday, while I was in Bugallon, Pangasinan when I was invited to speak in a church there, the vision was strengthened as I was made to see small, independent churches having big faith that God will be giving them their own places of worship. And God was quick and clear to tell me, “Francis, if you’re not going to do the vision today, forget about it!”. Hoo!

Upon return to Manila, revelation upon revelation never ceased to come, and one thing was strong: I have to share it to the congregation.

Today, let me present to you: the HEBRON SEED FAITH PROJECT, based on Gen. 13:14-18:

“And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: ‘Lift up your

eyes now and look from the place where you are — northward, southward,

eastward and westward; for all the land which you see I give to you and your

descendants forever. And I will make your descendants as the dust of the

earth, then your descendants also could be numbered.

“Arise, walk in the land through its length and width, for I give it to you.

“Then Abram moves his tent, and went and dwelt by the Terebinth trees of

Mamre, which are in HEBRON, and built an altar there to the Lord.”

In the midst of my fear to follow this vision, God brought me to Gen. 8:22, which says that “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, day and night, shall not cease.”

I remember the Seed Project in our Central Church, which in 1994, the lot which we wanted to buy costs almost P54M! We did not have any money on hand, nor do we have any collateral to leave with the bank. All we have is faith and the conviction that God’s time to give us our own headquarters was that time. And the rest? It’s history!

Today, I believe, is also God’s perfect time for JCSGO Caloocan to build its own headquarters. But before we can do it, God poses us a challenge.

In Numbers 14:14, “Therefore Hebron became the inheritance of Celeb the son of Jephunneh, the Kennizite to this day, because he wholly followed the Lord God of Israel.”

Here’s the challenge to us, as JCSGO Caloocan disciple:

1. We must be a servant of God.

2. We must have a different spirit (Numbers 14:24)

3. We must follow the Lord God wholeheartedly.

Now, here’s the strategy:

1. I will give my BIGGEST seed pledge offering (in cash or in kind) to be given from November 11, 2007 – December 31, 2007).

2. I will give my SACRIFICIAL weekly seed offering for the period of 7years.

Our motto for our weekly seed pledge?

NOT EQUAL GIFTS BUT EQUAL SACRIFICES.”

So what do we do next? This whole week, pray hard and seek God for what does He want you to give as your BIGGEST seed pledge. If you have things to sell to add to the amount that you desire to give, you can bring them and let’s have a garage sale. We will exert all efforts to please God with our biggest seed pledge and believe that even before December 31, 2007, it will already be in your hands!

Then next Sunday, we will write down our pledge and we will pray for them together.

Glory to God! We will march to our own Hebron and our new sanctuary!
